How to Import Camera Files to a Computer – Mac – GoPro Support Hub
I want to just connect my new gopro session to my mac using USB, which should be quick and easy, plug and play etc. However, when I connect them via USB, the go pro chages but the mac cannot see it, so I cannot import files into Gopro studio. Go to Solution. This should definitely work, but the camera will not pop up on your desktop as a mass storage device like most cameras.
The first thing to check is if the camera itself is going into USB mode. When you plug the camera into the computer, you should see the solid red LED lights of the camera to indicate it is charging. At this point, take a look at the small screen of the HERO4 Session and you should see a USB symbol and a battery symbol if it can connect to your computer. If you don’t see this image on your screen when the camera is plugged in, press the WiFi button on the back of the camera once, and the USB and Battery symbol should appear.
Once that happens, you can use import softwares to import your footage. I suggest using Image Capture which is a free software that should already be on your Mac. Once you have that USB and battery symbol on the camera’s screen, and you open up Image Capture, you should see your camera listed on the available devices.
View solution in original post. With the cameras support MTP protocol, they won’t necessarily pop up on your desktop like a mass storage device. There is a application that comes pre loaded on Mac computers that you can try to use which should see the camera when it is plugged in. The application is called “Image Capture” and if you do a spotlight search on your computer for it, it should show up in your applications folder. Once you open up Image Capture, plug your camera into your computer and power the camera on.
Once you see the USB symbol on your camera, take a look at Image Capture and you should see your camera under devices. If you don’t see the camera listed under devices in Image Capture, but you are seeing the USB symbol on your camera, then there could be a physical issue with the camera itself and I would reach out to our support team.
I would like to get back to hat Post since I have that Problem too. But the Camera is not recognized by my Mac using either Software available. Am I being dim? Report Inappropriate Content.
