Not sure if my own findings may help the investigative team or anyone else, Stephen, but if not, please just ignore. I used the ReflectDLFull. MSI installation package. On a somewhat related note, I am wondering why Reflect unlike all other apps that I have installed finds it necessary to place two identical.

MSI files 39cd It’s hardly a major issue, but it does seem a curious departure from normal practice and causes one to wonder if it is deliberate or unintentional. I do understand that the SearchPaths. Home » Reflect V6 » Installation. We are currently trying to reproduce this issue.

For the time being, if Reflect asks to download the Windows PE files, please click “Browse” rather than “Download”, then navigate to the folder containing the downloaded PE component zip file.

Reflect should extract the zip file and continue without redownloading any more files. Why does the installer for Macrium Reflect v6. This causes Macrium Reflect to request a download of Windows PE on first creation of the Rescue Media if I have deleted the Macrium folder from the default browser Downloads folder before creating the rescue media. With Macrium Reflect v6. Also the Reflect Download Agent doesn’t recognize the pe10x Can you get both issues fixed in the next release?

By Arvy – 16 October PM Not sure if my own findings may help the investigative team or anyone else, Stephen, but if not, please just ignore. I sent a tick for this. It works fine now but still takes about 2 minutes to boot.

By john. Hi, This has been fixed, the contents of the pe10 download zip will now be extracted on install. Kind regards, John. This will only work if the Macrium folder has not been deleted from the Downloads folder.

Is this fix due for the next build after build ? The download agent still defaults to download the installer and Windows PE components even though pe10x This issue doesn’t occur if pe5x Can you update the download agent to add detection for the existing Windows 10 PE components zip file. The download agent is still v6. It will prompt if it is about to overwrite a file in the selected download location. If you change the download location in a subsequent download, you will not see this prompt.

The agent doesn’t check for the existance of extracted PE component files. This logic is by design as the agent is often used on a machine that is not where the software will be installed; this enables installations on machines without an internet connection.

If it doesn’t work for you, you should use the agent to download only the installer only. I hope this provides helpful clarification on the design. Kind regards. Hi John. Perhaps my own observations are unimportant and I hope I’m not being overly argumentative as I certainly don’t mean to be. In my own experience, however, the downloaded pe–x I’ve never downloaded or copied any of them to that location myself but I see all of them there.

Also, as noted in my previous post here above, the Reflect installation process seems to result in two 2. That seems quite unusual to me. Is it intentional and, if so, why? This means that you need to find the original installer to complete a repair installer. As a convenience feature, the Macrium installer ensures that the full msi is always present. Later versions of windows cache the full msi by default, obviating the need for the additional msi. It seems that it is not always getting removed at the end of the installation process.

These issues will be investigated and addressed as necessary in a subsequent update. And please excuse my insatiable curiosity about such things.
